Scottish First Division Play-Off Final: Alloa defeat Dunfermline
Alloa secured their place in the Scottish First Division after claiming a 3-1 aggregate victory over Dunfermline in the play-off final.
Dunfermline won the second leg 1-0 after Allan Smith's second-half goal but Alloa's 3-0 win in the first leg ensured they had a big enough cushion.
Smith struck in the 72nd minute as Dunfermline tried desperately to overturn Alloa's advantage.
But they could not force a big finale with their hopes stymied by the dismissal of Stephen Husband.
The defeat led to Dunfermline being relegated as they failed to produce a similar comeback to the one they managed in the semi-final against Forfar.
