Brendan Taylor hit an unbeaten century as Zimbabwe reached 217-4 on day one of the first Test against Zimbabwe at Harare.

Taylor reached 105 not out to lead the recovery after Zimbabwe had been reduced to 65-3 in early afternoon.

Bangladesh opted to bowl first and seamer Robiul Islam (2-56) removed Vusi Sibanda (5) and Timycen Maruma (10) with the new ball.

Hamilton Masakadza and Taylor saw Zimbabwe through to lunch without further loss but Masakadza edged to Mahmudullah at slip off Enamul Haque's bowling for 25.

That brought Malcolm Waller and Taylor together and the fourth-wicket pair put on 127, staying together into the final hour of the day.

Waller brought up his second Test half-century before being bowled by Rubel Hossain (1-42) for 56.

Taylor completed his third Test hundred from 200 balls with five fours and a six and remained undefeated at stumps alongside Elton Chigumbura (6no).
