Oakland's Brandon Moss smashed a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the 19th inning to end a titanic battle with the Los Angeles Angels.

Moss cleared the wall for the second time in the game to seal a 10-8 victory for the Athletics in a game lasting six hours, 32 minutes - the longest in history for both clubs.

Oakland had earlier fought back from 7-2 down to force the game into extra innings, scoring four runs in the eighth and levelling the scores with a two-out RBI single from Yoenis Cespedes in the ninth.

Albert Pujols had four hits for the Angels, including two solo home runs, before Moss struck the winning blow off Jerry Blevins - the Angels' final relief pitcher.

Elsewhere in the National League, Mat Latos extended his scoreless innings streak to 17 to pitch help Cincinatti to a 2-1 win over Arizona.

Joey Votto and Xavier Paul both drove in runs for the Reds as they inflicted a third consecutive defeat on the Cardinals.

In American League action, Cleveland squared their four-game series against Kansas City with a thumping 9-0 victory at the Kauffman Stadium.

Ubaldo Jimenez kept the Royals offence at bay with a superb eight-innings stint on the mound, while Ryan Raburn cracked a pair of home runs.

Raburn cleared the wall for a three-run blast in the fifth inning and added a solo homer in the eighth to finish with four hits on the night.

Jason Kipnis also homered for the Indians, while Jimenez conceded only two walks and an infield single over his first seven innings as he picked up his first win of the season.

Meanwhile, Carlos Corporan had four hits including a home run for Houston in a 9-1 thrashing of the New York Yankees.

Corporan drove in four runs overall as the Astros took Andy Pettitte for seven runs and 10 hits to bounce back from their 4-0 sweep at the hands of Boston.
