'Sugar' Shane Mosley claimed a points victory over Pablo Cesar Cano in Mexico
Shane Mosley emerged from retirement to claim a unanimous points victory over Pablo Cesar Cano in Cancun, Mexico.
'Sugar Shane', widely regarded as damaged goods after losses to Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Saul Alvarez in recent years, showed there was still life in his 41-year-old legs.
Cano edged the first half of the fight but Mosley upped the tempo in the sixth round and had the Mexican in trouble, only for the younger man to hit back strongly in the ninth.
The 10th round saw more good action with Mosley on top again and although his mouthpiece was knocked out in the next the championship rounds were bossed by the three-weight world champion and future Hall of Famer.
In a close contest, Mosley was given the nod on all three of the judges' scorecards 115-113.
It was the veteran's first victory since he beat Antonio Margarito in 2009, and his first fight since he announced he would quit 12 months ago.
