Dunfermline apply to enter voluntary administration amid financial crisis
Dunfermline have applied to enter voluntary administration as their financial trouble hits new heights.
The Scottish Division One club have until 5pm on Tuesday afternoon to pay HMRC the £134,000 they owe - or face liquidation proceedings.
A group of fans and businessmen are attempting to ensure Bryan Jackson of PKF is the administrator chosen by agreeing to putting up the money and underwrite the appointment.
Current majority shareholder Gavin Masterton, meanwhile, is not part of the consortium bidding for control.
Should a pending court hearing confirm Dunfermline may enter administration, the Scottish Football League would subsequently decide on a punishment for doing so.
