Report: New York Giants will work out Mike Patterson
The New York Giants' defensive line might have a Philadelphia feel to it this season.
A few weeks after signing former Eagle Cullen Jenkins, the Giants will take a close look at Mike Patterson, according to the New York Daily News.
The first-round draft pick in 2005 was cut in February and has serious medical questions after needing surgery to remove an arteriovenous malformation in his brain in January 2012. Patterson wound up being able to return and played five games last season.
The Giants did their best work in their Super Bowl seasons with a deep defensive tackle rotation. They are trying to build a similar group with Jenkins, Linval Joseph, Marvin Austin and Markus Kuhn. The Giants also will work out Pat White and Tim Hightower on Tuesday, news we passed along last week.
