Tiger Woods and Ian Poulter saw Team Albany home in the Tavistock Cup
Tiger Woods and Ian Poulter teamed up to win the Tavistock Cup for Team Albany in a play-off.
Poulter birdied the first hole of a play-off against Lake Nona, who had won the much-changed team tournament for the last four years.
The one-day strokeplay event was moved to Tuesday after the late finish of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the participants were met with tough conditions that made scoring difficult.
Poulter made it around the Isleworth course in level-par 72, with Woods and Tim Clark carding 73 and Justin Rose struggling around in 77 to leave Albany on a total of seven-over.
That score was matched by Lake Nona, with Graeme McDowell shooting 71 to anchor their effort alongside Ross Fisher (72), Henrik Stenson (74) and Peter Hanson (78).
Webb Simpson shot the lowest round of the day, with his 70 enough to win the individual event and take home the Payne Stewart Salver by one shot from McDowell.
McDowell then teamed up with Stenson for Lake Nona in the play-off but neither could match Poulter's seven-foot birdie putt that secured the prize for Albany.
Simpson's Primland team and Isleworth finished on an eight-over total with Oak Tree's quartet carding 12-over and Queenwood an ugly +20 with a line-up that included European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley.
