Robert Guerrero 'arrested' for trying to board aircraft with unloaded handgun
Robert Guerrero, the boxer due to fight unbeaten Floyd Mayweather in May, has been arrested for attempting to board an aeroplane with an unloaded gun.
Guerrero was apprehended at New York's JFK Airport on gun possession charges while trying to catch a flight to Las Vegas, according to reports.
The southpaw, 31-1-1 with 18 knockouts, is set to face fellow American Mayweather for the undefeated star's WBC welterweight crown on 4 May and had been in New York to promote the forthcoming fight.
He is understood to have disclosed the weapon at the ticket desk, prompting a call to police.
It is thought that Guerrero has a permit to carry a gun in his home state of California but not in New York.
