Andy Murray expecting tough test against Stanislas Wawrinka in Monte Carlo
Andy Murray believes his third-round clash with Stanislas Wawrinka in Monte Carlo will be the perfect test of his clay-court form.
The world No 2 got his campaign on the red surface underway with a clinical 6-1 6-4 win over Edouard Roger-Vasselin in an hour and 12 minutes.
However Murray has lost his previous two meetings with Wawrinka on clay - and the US Open champion is relishing Thursday's clash.
"It's a very tough match," Murray told Sky Sports.
"He has played some great tennis this year and when his game is on he's a tough player to beat.
"He likes this surface and I have lost to him on it in the past.
"It will be a good match and a chance to see where my game is at."
Meanwhile Jonathan Marray and Colin Fleming are also through to the next round of the Monte Carlo Masters.
Marray and Fleming overcame Frederik Nielsen and Julian Knowle 6-4 7-6 (9/7).
